Mentoring & coaching

Experience is worth more once someone else can use it.

Some of the best moments of my working life were watching someone I'd worked with do something they weren't sure they could.

Why I do this

None of this is new. SKLPS, which I founded and led for five years, helped students and young professionals moving to Australia with their careers. Most of the working life since has been spent developing sales leaders and building teams. One former colleague has said publicly that it shaped how he now builds teams of his own. That kind of thing means more than any target.

I'm not a therapist and I don't have a framework to sell you. What I have is a lot of experience, including plenty of mistakes, and a genuine interest in helping you think more clearly about what's in front of you.

What we might talk about

Careers
Choosing the next move, and the one after that.
Leadership
Becoming a manager, then a leader of managers.
Performance
Building habits and teams that hold up under pressure.
Career transitions
Changing industry, role or direction.
Executive development
Stepping into the room where the bigger decisions are made.
Founders
Growth, hiring, people and the decisions that are difficult to make alone.
Commercial leadership
Sales, partners, customers and revenue that lasts.
Ambition
Wanting more, and knowing what for.
Difficult decisions
Someone to think out loud with.
Quality of life
Keeping work in proportion to everything else.

How it works

It starts with a conversation.

No packages, no programmes. Tell me a little about where you are and what you're working through, and we'll see if I can help. Sometimes one conversation is enough.

For hearing how I think first, the interviews on Elsewhere are a good place to start.
